Voices Together: A Step Towards Women Empowerment

A women’s empowerment meeting was held with the Sabar women group at Bishri village in Purulia district to encourage participation, awareness, and collective growth among rural women. Women from different families came together and actively joined the discussion, making the meeting lively and meaningful.

The meeting focused on understanding the importance of the woman’s role in the family and the community. Women shared their daily experiences, challenges and responsibilities, especially related to household work, child care, health, and income. Many women expressed their interest in learning new skills and becoming more confident in taking decisions for their families.

During the meeting, discussions were held on forming strong women groups, regular savings and small income-generating activities. The importance of unity, mutual support and collective decision-making was clearly explained. Women were together to improve their economic condition and social status.

The session also highlighted women’s rights, self-confidence, and leadership. Participants discussed how empowered women can contribute to children’s education, better health practices, and overall development of the village. The women showed enthusiasm and shared ideas for future activities.

At the end of the meeting, the women group decided to continue regular meetings and take steps toward self-reliance and empowerment. The women empowerment meeting at Kashidih village became a positive initiative toward building confident, aware, and united women in the community.
