On the 3rd of June 2018 a PRERAK organised a workshop on implementation of FRA, 2006 with a focus on Individual Forest Rights (IFR) and Community Forest Rights (CFR) titles was held at the Kamar village of Kuladighat in Mainpur Block, Gariaband District, Chhattisgarh. The meeting was attended by the Sarpanch of Kuladighat Bansingh Sori, Former BJP Block President Manohar Baghel and the men and women of Kuladighat. Villagers turned up in large numbers and there were a total of 120 participants. Bhuwan Patel of PRERAK made a presentation on FRA, 2006, its different provisions and its importance for Kuladighat. Issues pertaining to the filling and receiving of IFR claims by the villagers was discussed in detail and the Sarpanch and villagers pointed out that a few villagers were yet to receive IFR titles mostly because they were not present in the village at the time when the process of filing claims took place. PRERAK promised to provide all possible support to the villagers in following up on claims that had not been received and other issues pertaining to their forest rights and FRA.
