Fencing of seedlings of tree and plant species on Chaptapahad, Kolukheda, Gaildubba, Patalkot, Chhindiwara District, Madhya Pradesh

In August together community seeds of a variety local tree and plant species were planted on Chamtaphad in Kolukheda hamlet of Gaildubba village, Patalkot. While the land belongs to Khusru Uike it is in use by community members and Khusru was more than happy for community planting to be carried out on his land with the trees and plants being available for future use of the entire community. The 2000 odd seeds planted in August included a variety of local wild and uncultivated food trees and plants like Kachnar, Kevlari, Retobhaji, Damla, Churna, Munga, Gulli, Bhelwa, Menhar, Katul, Jamun, Aam, Amla, Achar and Kosum.

In October 2021, 9 women, 13 men and 5 children from Kolukheda, Harmahu, Bajhlam, Sukhabhand, Kodia and Gaildubba came together and volunteered their labour to carry out fencing of the seedlings to ensure their protection from livestock.
