Meeting of Durio Tulmi Tola Water user group and cleaning of Ghagra Jola spring

On 15th September 2024 the water user group of Durio Tulmi Tola conducted a meeting comprising of 25 participants. Durio Tulmi Tola is a Paharia hamlet comprising of 34 households. The primary source of water and drinking water in particular is a spring Ghagra Jola which is located in steep terrain around 600 meters from the hamlet. In the course of the meeting the villages that they would clean their spring and maintain cleanliness by taking steps like stopping the throwing of plastic near the spring source and designating a separate area for bathing. This would ensure that the water remains clean and help keep water borne diseases in check. After the meeting the participants carried out a thorough cleaning of spring removing all the leaf litter, silt and garbage that had built up.
Meeting on water source conservation and cleaning of spring at Asripara 20th October 2024

On 20th October 2024, a meeting was held in village Asripara under the chairmanship of Shri Kamlesh Paharia in which men and women participated. The focus of the meeting was to discuss the cleanliness and maintenance of Jolanha Jola spring on which the 17 households of Asripara Paharia hamlet depend on for drinking water. The villagers also decided that open defecation would not be allowed near the spring and cutting trees near the source of the spring would also be banned. A group of 6 women was formed and they took on the responsibility of facilitating the cleaning and maintenance of the spring with the support of other village households. The meeting ended with participants cleaning their spring.
